The governor of Kaduna state, Mukhtar Yero has sacked key aides of the late governor, Patrick Yakowa and replaced them with his own men. The move is seen as a bid to secure a firm grip on governance in the state.
While announcing the changes on the state-run KSMC Radio and KSTV, the state Commissioner of Information, Saidu Adamu, announced the replacement of Lawal Samaila Abdullahi, Secretary to the State Government (SSG); Abokie Galadima, Chief of Staff Government House Kaduna; Reuben Buhari, Senior Special Assistant Media; Yohanna Allamagni, Principal Private Secretary; and Engr. Bala, Political Adviser.
The five aides were replaced with the following, Hamza Ishaq Danmahawayi as SSG, Yahaya Aminu Chief of Staff, Ahmed Maiyaki Director General Media and Publicity to the Governor, Aliyu Samaila PPS, and Garba Madami as Political Adviser.
In the list of top 10 people in politics to look out for in 2013, The Scoop profiled the governor of Kaduna and asked if the circumstances that led to his emergence will make him more cautious as he seeks to bridge the divide between Muslims andChristians in the state.
