Opposition parties mean business.
The speed with which they are going about their merger this new year shows a certain degree of commitment never before seen in their ranks.
Reports today reveal that the merger between the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is concluded. All that remains now is ratification from the electoral body, INEC.
The new party, according to a source who wasn’t mandated to speak on behalf of the merging parties, would be known as the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Only yesterday, ten opposition governors met in Lagos, and declared their readiness to follow the plans for merger through to a conclusion. They claimed that the opposition was on a Nigerian rescue mission.
