I used my hand to strike out his name: Gov. Akpabio confesses to election rigging (Watch)

by Stanley Azuakola

What does one make of this confession by Akwa Ibom governor, Godswill Akpabio?

“I used my hand to strike out the name of the person who won before and I said it was important for me to give that region a senator in 2007 and I produced Senator Aloysius Etuk, that”s where he comes from. Senator, take a bow,” Akpabio said in a video recorded during the visit of the Labaran Maku led Good Governance Tour Team.

He was referring to the PDP 2011 primary election which produced Aloysius Etuk as the party’s flagbearer. Etuk went on to win in the main election.

With this latest revelation, Akpabio who is fast gaining notoriety for his recklessness and wastefulness in recent weeks, has made a lie of any claim he might have had of being a democrat..
