The governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has nominated a replacement for the late former deputy, Funmilayo Olayinka.
The deputy governor nominee – also a female – is Professor (Mrs) Modupe Adelabu, who currently serves as the Chairperson of the State’s Universal Education Board (SUBEB).
In a letter addressed to the speaker of the state assembly, Adewale Omirin, and dated 3 May 2013, Gov. Fayemi requested that the state assembly considers Adelabu for the position of deputy governor.
Mrs Adelabu, a Professor of Education at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile –Ife, was Head of the Department of Education Administration and Planning of the institution before her appointment as Chairperson of Ekiti State SUBEB in July 2011.
