The Presidential Panel set up by President Goodluck Jonathan to investigate Aviation Minister, Ms Stella Oduah’s role in the purchase of two bullet proof BMW cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority will today complete its investigation and is expected to submit its report to the president this week.
This is coming less than a week after a committee by the House of Representatives, submitted its report, which indicted Oduah and the NCAA.
The presidential panel led by former Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Isa Bello, has been meeting secretly in the Office of the NSA. The panel has the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) and Air Vice Marshal Dick Iruenebere (retd.) as members.
Reportedly, after receiving the panel’s report this week, Jonathan will present a formal statement. All eyes are on the president to see how he eventually handles this thorny issue especially as Nigerians observed the decisiveness with which Ghana’s president John Mahama handled a similar situation less than a week ago.
