At a time like this when local technology is not readily embraced and there seems to be a dearth of innovation in the Nigerian technology space, TENT (Techie. Entrepreneurial. Nigerian. Talented.) is presenting a platform where budding Nigerian technopreneurs can showcase their work, connect with resources, add value to the market, get inspired for more innovation and build a sustainable business that they will run after graduation.
According to the press release issued ahead of this year’s edition of the annual event, which is hosted by Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN), the organisers say that TENT aims to search for “unconnected tech enthusiasts who have the potential of building on globally accessible technology products or leading a new product development cycle for local companies.”
TENT gathering 2013 will operate with the theme “Competence. Collaboration. Competition,” and will take place at the Lagos e-learning Centre, Odunlami Street, Lagos from Tuesday, 26th November to Thursday 28th November, 2013.
To further cement its determination to develop and impact lives, the organisers of TENT Gathering 2013 have listed powerful personalities as keynote speakers for this year’s TENT Gathering.
The list of keynote speakers include Sim Shagaya (CEO and Founder of Konga and DealDey), Mario Valle (Director Business Development (Emerging Markets) at Electronic Arts) and Professor Pat Utomi who would round off the keynote speeches.
Other personalities who are due to speak at this year’s TENT gathering are Oreoluwa Somolu (W.TEC), Emeka Okoye (Vikanti), Osayi Alile Oruene (WimBiz), Chude Jideonwo (RED Media), Emmanuel Oluwatosin (Nokia) and Victor Asemota (Swifta).
Students from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria have been confirmed as participants at TENT Gathering 2013. Some of the schools include Lagos State Polytechnic, Benson Idahosa University, Covenant University, Federal University of Akure, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, Lagos State University, Yaba College of Technology, Adekunle Ajasin University, University of Ilorin, National Open University of Nigeria, Covenant University and many more.
