The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the National Security Agency (NSA), have announced the arrest of a Nigerian, Samuel Sunday Nweke with 50 tubes of cocaine concealed in his stomach at the Airport (RIA). The cocaine is valued at US $20,000.
The arrest was disclosed by the Director of the country’s Drug Enforcement Agency, Anthony K. Souh, while addressing the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) on Thursday.
He said Nweke was arrested recently at the RIA with the help of the joint regional security after his activities were monitored from the time he swallowed the 50 tubes of cocaine in Nigeria till the time he was arrested using different passport and names.
In his remarks, Liberia’s Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Hon. Lewis Brown reiterated the country’s commitment to fight against drug peddling and abuse irrespective of who is involved. He added that a society free of drug means well for all.
