The G7 governors were supposed to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday night but the meeting didn’t hold. The president reportedly needed to rest after his London trip. However the new PDP allege that the meeting between the G7 governors and the presidency is being sabotaged by the Tukur-led PDP.
Now according to reports by Leadership newspaper, the G7 governors met in Abuja on Monday night, at the Kano governors’ lodge. There they finally decided to leave the ruling party to the leading opposition party – the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, at the meeting which ended by 12.30am, one governor in the group, Sule Lamido of Jigawa, whose sons were recently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was reportedly having great difficulty in making up his mind. The other 6 governors – Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Ahmed, Wamakko, Aliyu and Nyako – were however ready to take the step and cross over to the APC.
