The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has constituted an investigation team headed by a Commissioner of Police, Idris Farouk to undertake a full scale investigation into the January 12 incident, that led to the alleged shooting of Sen Magnus Abe in Rivers State.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba disclosed this in a statement in Abuja yesterday.
According to the statement, the team is mandated to visit the scene of the incident and interview all relevant parties.
The Rivers police has since denied shooting the serving senator while attempting to disrupt a rally put together by the Save Rivers Movement.
