While receiving officers and students of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna state, who paid him a courtesy visit in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, the governor of rivers, Rotimi Amaechi talked as usual about his continuing battle with the state commissioner of police, Joseph Mbu.
Amaechi said that when he picks up the phone to talk with Mbu, the commissioner always directs him to write applications to the police command on issues bordering on security.
Amaechi, who described the development as ridiculous, explained that high ranking police officers, who knew about the situation, had expressed anger about it but whenever they lament the attitude of the state police commissioner, they were ordered to return to Abuja.
“It may interest you to also know that if I call the Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu, he will say, “Governor, apply.” It is ridiculous. When some high ranking police officers come here and they hear it, they get very angry. But before they get out of here, they will be ordered to come back to Abuja,” he stressed.
