The immediate past Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, whose tenure was mired in controversy following her decision to ask the NCAA to purchase bullet proof vehicles for her, is to coordinate all the groups presently positioning themselves to campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election in 2015.
The Vanguard newspaper is reporting that Aso Rock is creating a unit called Research and Strategy unit, and Oduah is expected to become the Director- General. The unit will later metamorphose into a body that will spearhead the President’s campaign for re-election bid in 2015.
According to a source who spoke to the newspaper, her new new assignment would be similar to what she did prior to 2011 Presidential election when she handled a major campaign and enlightenment platform, the Neighbour to Neighbour, which was very helpful to the president’s election bid.
Ahead of 2015 presidential election, different groups and non-governmental Organisations, NGOs rooting for President Jonathan’s re- election bid are currently not less than 115, just as they await for the formal declaration of the President to declare for 2015 presidency.
The source said Oduah came to mind due to the strategic role she played in 2011 when Jonathan’s campaign was in full swing.
Last month, the president gave Oduah a soft landing when he accepted her resignation, despite calls that she should have been outrightly sacked and prosecuted following the allegations which surfaced against her last year.
