While on its way to Kaduna from Kaura local government area yesterday, a Prado Jeep in the convoy of former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) was involved in an accident.
The accident occurred along the Kachia-Kaduna highway and according to reports the vehicle involved somersaulted several times while trying to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle.
There was however no life lost in the accident.
Apart from Buhari, others who made the trip include the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Aminu Bello Masari and the Party’s National Deputy Secretary, Malam Nasiru El-rufai.
They had gone to pay a condolence visit to the Chief of Marwa, Malam Tagwai Sambo over the recent extremist attacks in his community.
A member of the team, Ibrahim Ibrahim, said how the occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt was a miracle.
“We were lucky to escape the accident unhurt” Ibrahim stated.
Meanwhile, during his visit to the Chief of Marwa, Buhari said the APC will address the perennial problems of insecurity in the country if the Party is voted into power.
“If Nigerians give their mandate to APC come 2015 general elections, it will address the prolonged insecurity problem that has been bedevilling the country,”
During the visit, the delegation donated the sum of N 2 million to the victims and the money was presented by Buhari to the Chief of Marwa.
