The dust has not settled yet on the ascension to the throne of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new emir of Kano. Those opposed to his emergence are still agitating, and in fact Nigeria’s president who makes it a point of duty to congratulate and mourn with traditional stools across the country when the need arises, has not seen it fit to congratulate the new emir.
However the intrigues surrounding his emergence has not stopped Sanusi from carrying on with his new role.
On Tuesday, he received Africa’s richest man and business man, Aliko Dangote, an indigene of Kano, who came to pay homage to the new emir as well as offer condolences over the death of his predecessor.
