The Wall Street Journal is reporting that eight Nigerians infected with Ebola will be given doses of the experimental treatment Nano Silver.
Administering these experimental treatments have been deemed ethical. According to the minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, the drugs were provided by a Nigerian scientist. Chukwu however did not disclose the name of this scientist.
Not much is known about Nano Silver. However, Dr. Simon Agwale, a contagious disease expert, said Nano Silver had proven effective against viruses, parasites, and bacteria.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story had claimed that the drugs were manufactured by a Nigerian scientist. In fact, it was a donation by the scientist even though the drug was produced abroad.
