In Kaduna, the state governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has submitted his letter of intent to contest the 2015 governorship election in the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He told party members at the state secretariat when he submitted the form that he chose to run for the office again because of the calls he has been receiving from various political and other interest groups across the state, urging him to contest the poll.
Already, the governor’s candidacy has received support from several stakeholders across the entire 23 local government areas of the state.
Reacting to the governor’s declaration of intent, Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the PDP, Chief Abubakar Harunan, said with the presentation of letter of intent by the governor, the process of transition has commenced. Haruman urged other aspirants seeking elective positions on the platform of PDP to follow suit, saying the party would guarantee level playing field for all aspirants.
On the APC side, Nasir Elrufai is the frontline candidate of the party and is expected to pick the ticket to face Yero at the poll.
