Nigeria’s minister of information, Labaran Maku, has announced that he will resign from office on Friday this week. This is to enable him pursue his ambition to run for the office of Nasarawa governor next year.
The minister said this on Sunday during a thanksgiving mass at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish, Akwanga.
It is expected that in the coming weeks, several other ministers will resign as well, including the ministers of Labour, Emeka Wogu who wants to run for governor in Abia; Education (State), Nyesom Wike for governor in Rivers; Defence (State), Musiliu Obanikoro for governor in Lagos, and Samuel Ortom, Trade, Industry and Investment (State) for governor of Benue state.
