A lot of fuss was made today about the fact that the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, was a no-show in Lagos at the so-called “one-million-man” march put together in his honour. The event was attended by other APC stalwarts including Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo, Rauf Aregbesola, among others.

However, Buhari who was not present over a week ago when all former heads of state visited former president Shehu Shagari at his Sokoto home to congratulate him on his 90th birthday, visited the home of the former civilian president who he overthrew in a 1985 coup.

Shagari expressed happiness at seeing Buhari. He called for prayers for Nigeria so that there will be peace, progress and stability.

Shagari also acknowledged the personal commitment and concern of the APC presidential candidate while expressing appreciation for the visit over his 90 years birthday.

He wished Buhari success in his desire to lead Nigeria.

‪Earlier, General Buhari congratulated the former President Shagari over his 90 years birthday.

‪”I personally sent a letter to you informing you that I was in London and hope the letter was delivered to you,” said Buhari. “I pray God to continue to guide , protect and give you Shehu Shagari good health.”
