Plateau state has a new governor-elect in the person of Simon Lalong of the APC.
Even Lalong’s main challenger, Sen. Gyang Pwajok of PDP has congratulated him.
He said in a statement that: “Leadership is from God and He gives to whoever he desires at a particular time. We can build a greater Plateau when we work together irrespective of our ethno-religious differences.”
So Lalong is expected to have it easy right? Not so fast.
Unless there are defections quickly, Lalong will be working with a state assembly which will be made of more PDP members. Ask Gov. Fayose in Ekiti how that worked out for him.
Right now, PDP has 13 of the seats announced so far, while APC has 10. Just one constituency seat is outstanding in the 24 member assembly.
Interesting days ahead no doubt.
