The swearing in of Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai took an awry twist today when some youths began pelting dignitaries with water sachets, stones and other objects in the pavilion at the Murtala Square, Kaduna.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), problem started when the new governor had concluded his address and was about to mount an open van to review the parade mounted by the police.
In response to the sudden outburst, the crowd was dispersed by the police while a senator-elect, Shehu Sani, used his car to smuggle the chief judge out of the venue.
The rampaging youth accused the dignitaries of colluding with the previous administration of Governor Ramalan Yero to plunder the resources of the state while demanding that Emir of Zaria, Shehu Idris, be dethroned immediately.
