Following in the footsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari, the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has opined that the failure by the USA to classify Boko Haram as a terror group until 2014 aided the sect in committing their dastardly acts.
The spokesperson of the 2015 Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation also berated the Barrack Obama-led government for refusing to sell arms to Nigeria in the fight against the insurgents. He lamented that the government was unable to buy arms from either the United States or any of her allies because of the international arms embargo it places on Nigeria.
“The U.S. govt. helped Boko Haram immensly by refusing to classify them as a terrorist organisation until 2014 and by refusing to sell us arms to fight them. Worst still, they imposed an international arms embargo on us so that we could not buy arms from anyone else,” Fani-Kayode posted on his Twitter handle.
