Former Minister of Finance and secretary to the government of the Federation, Olu Falae, has been kidnapped. According to reports, his abductors are demanding a ransom of N100m.
Falae who was the presidential candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party and Alliance for Democracy in the 1999 election is currently the founder and chairman of the Social Democratic Party.
The spokesperson of the SDP, Remi Olayiwole, said that the kidnappers insist that the ransom has to be paid latest by Tuesday.
He disclosed that the gunmen stormed Falae’s farm at around 2pm on Monday, shooting sporadically into the air.
“They met him in his farm at Ilado and were shooting before taking him away.
“His wife received a phone call from the kidnappers later, and a voice was heard telling the family to bring N100million before the end of tomorrow(Tuesday) before he will be released,” he said.
