Everyone is used to Ekiti Gov. Ayo Fayose and his unashamed philosophy of stomach infrastructure by now. While most other politicians try not to be too brazen about it, Fayose definitely isn’t the only one who subscribes to the philosophy.
For instance, Fayose’s media team sent out Photos and a statement showing the governor personally distributing rams to Muslims to mark the Sallah. In Bauchi, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who like Fayose, is also a Christian, distributed over 200 cows and rams to Muslims in Bauchi state and other parts of North East.
Dogara didn’t distribute photos like Fayose and he didn’t even do it personally. He set up a distribution committee headed by Hon. Haliru Jika, the member representing Ganjuwa federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
The committee chairman, Jika, said that the distribution is meant to provide succour to the less-privileged describing the gesture as a good move by the speaker to cushion the effects of the insurgency on the people of the North East.
According to him, Dogara’s decision to distribute the Sallah gifts demonstrates his respect to religious beliefs and institutions.
