Former spokesman of the Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, has called on the federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of pirate radio station, Radio Biafra.
According to Fani-Kayode, it is illegal for an agency of state to arrest and detain a person for three days without charging him to court.
Kanu, was reportedly arrested in Lagos by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS), when he arrived in Nigeria from his UK base on Saturday.
The DSS has still not confirmed Kanu’s arrest even though Radio Biafra has repeatedly insisted that he was arrested.
Fani-Kayode said that the President should release Kanu as he had stayed beyond the constitutionally backed duration in custody.
