The CEO of Attitudinal Development International and child rape survivor, Timilehin Oyebode, will speak at the 5th Edition of ‘The Conversation’ to be moderated by child-rights advocate and the program’s convener, Joy Isi Bewaji.
Oyebode will speak on the sustainability of traditional parenting methods where she is expected to illustrate how rising case of child molestation across the country highlights the struggle between traditional parenting methods and a modern, all-encompassing approach to raising a child in the modern age.
Also expected to speak at the event is Itoro Eze-Anaba of The Mirabel Centre, a Lagos-based rehabilitation facility for victims of rape, especially the children whose innocence renders perpetually vulnerable to would-be pedophiles. She will share sordid details about victims of abuse in her facility with the audience in order to enlighten them.
Issues about early sex education and guidelines will feature prominently during ‘The Conversation.’
Other speakers and participants will discuss their individual empirical knowledge about child rape, a debilitating menace that is so endemic in the society but which very few have the courage to enunciate in public domain.
The 5th Edition of ‘The Conversation’ holds at the popular Oriental Hotels, Lekki, on Sunday, November 8, and will officially open by 2 p.m. The event, which is sponsored by Happenings.com.ng, an online-based lifestyle magazine, is free and open to the public.
