Former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to fulfill all campaign promises it made to the Nigerian people during the last electioneering period.
The ex-President, who gave this admonition on Tuesday during a visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, explained that his trip to Benue State was propelled by the development initiatives of the Ortom administration which were geared towards industrializing the state.
Speaking at a dinner organised for him by Governor Ortom at the new Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples’ House, Makurdi, the state capital, Obasanjo entreated people of the state to support the governor to deliver good governance.
He also charged farmers in the state and country to unite in order to provide food security, jobs and wealth for the nation’s growth.
The former President, who expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Ortom to deliver selfless service to the state, encouraged him to uphold the core values of the blueprint of his administration.
“I believe that Governor Ortom is sincere. He wants practical development and I urge you people to constantly remind him of his promises and but support him to succeed,” he said.
