The presidents of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, and the president of the Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote, are both in Kaduna state where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state government led by Gov. Nasir El-Rufai.
Also in Kaduna are the governors of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje; Borno, Kashim Shettima; Bauchi, Mohammed Abubakar; Sokoto,Aminu Tambuwal; and Yobe, Ibrahim Geidam. The US ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle is also at the event, as well as several traditional rulers like Sultan of Sokoto, Emir of Kano and the Shehu of Borno.
Host governor, Nasir El-Rufai, while welcoming his guests, shared a joke that the per capita income of Kaduna state jumped today due to the presence of both the richest man in the world, Bill Gates and the richest in Africa, Aliko Dangote.
