Senate president, Bukola Saraki, is scheduled to appear before two judicial institutions on Tuesday, June 21, to answer to different allegations against him. He will appear before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Jabi, Abuja over the latest allegations of forgery and criminal conspiracy against him. He is also expected at the the Code of Conduct Tribunal where he has applied for the removal of the Tribunal Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar from his false and anticipatory asset declaration case.
The case before the high court, which has the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu along with the former Clerk to the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasu, and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi, as co-defendants, will be heard by Justice Yusuf Halilu.
Clearly it’s going to be a busy day for Saraki and his legal team. There’s one good news for him however: Both the FCT High Court and the CCT are adjacent to each other in Jabi, Abuja. Now, nobody can complain about the distance.
