The house of representatives moved to enforce its 180-working days suspension of the former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin, as his National Assembly office was sealed today by the NASS Sergeant-at-Arms and security agents.
The security agents reportedly spent about an hour taking an inventory of items in Mr. Jibrin’s office before sealing with reflective tape.
Jibrin was suspended following the submission of the report of the Committee on Ethics and Privileges to the House, which was unanimously adopted by its members.
The terms of his suspension excluded him from holding any position of responsibility until the end of the 8th Assembly, implored him to write a letter of apology by the end of his suspension, and no pay for the duration of his punishment.
His supporters vowed to upturn his suspension by seeking a court injunction.
