Badeh’s trial stalled due to absence of trial judge

The trial of former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex S. Badeh, was stalled on Monday as the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, was absent.

No reason was given for his absence even though there were whispers that it could be as a result of last weekend’s invasion of the homes of some judges across the country.

Continuation of Badeh’s trial was originally fixed for Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday at the last adjourned date in July. It remains to be seen if the trial will continue tomorrow.

Badeh and his lawyers, led by Chief Akin Olujimi (SAN), were in court, alongside the prosecution counsels.

Around 10.20am, the Court Registrar whispered to Olujimi and others that the court will not seat.
