About 77 Shiite members were charged to court on Wednesday in Kano over the clash which broke out in the state between some youths and members of the sect.
The sect members were charged before a chief magistrate court for criminal conspiracy and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, as well as illegal assembly.
They were granted bail by the presiding judge, Mohammed Idris, on the condition of providing a surety each.
On Wednesday as members of the sect marched along the streets in observance of a religious ritual, they were attacked by hundreds of youths believed to be residents of Gwammaja Quarters.
The residents say that the sect members blocked roads during the procession leading to the angst amongst residents who hurled them with missiles. It took the intervention of the police to calm things down and restore order.
