First, it was the Kaduna State All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter which endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Nasir El-Rufai for a second term.
Now, the neighbouring state of Katsina has followed suit. On Saturday, the APC executive council led by its chairman Malam Shittu Shittu met and endorsed the yet to be confirmed candidacy of Pres. Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 polls.
Reasons: The FG’s “resolute fight against corruption, war against insecurity, kidnappings, Boko Haram and armed banditry, among other issues” were cited by the party in a resolution jointly signed by the state chairman and secretary Sani Ahmed.
Also, the Katsina Gov. Aminu Masari was endorsed for a second term by the party.
Per the resolution: “The party fully supports all the policies and programmes of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and the star government led by Aminu Bello Masari. The party commends the Katsina State Governor for transparent administration, open-door policy and wonderful achievements recorded within the short period of two years of his administration in the areas of education, agriculture, health, water supply and infrastructural development and empowerment of the good people of Katsina State.”
The APC National Welfare Secretary, Ibrahim Masari, as well as Zonal Organising Secretary (North West), Abdulmanaf Muhammad Sidi attended the meeting.
Just a reminder: According to Kaduna Sen. Shehu Sani, the politicians endorsing Pres. Buhari for a second term are selfish, and doing it for their personal advancement. Details HERE.
