The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for next month’s Anambra election, Oseloka Obaze, has criticised Governor Willie Obiano’s campaign team for resorting “to a campaign rooted in calumny and propaganda” targeted at him.
Gov. Obiano is the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the election ad is among the favourites alongside Obaze and Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
- The PDP candidate said several fake Facebook accounts have been opened in his name by his opponents in order to drive propaganda and lies against him.
- He clarified that he has only one Facebook page, one Twitter account (@OselokaHObaze) and an Instagram account (Oseloka H. Obaze).
The PDP candidate said he is determined to run an issues-based campaign, and called on the governor to call his team to order as “these social media posting emanating from their camp have gone well beyond acceptable limits and therefore must cease. “
Obaze also challenged Obiano to publicly speak up against the breach of ethical campaigning, arguing that a failure to do so “will be a tacit and open endorsement of such negative activities.”
