Former Kano Gov. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was one of a handful of APC leaders who were hosted at the State House on Thursday evening by Pres. Muhammadu Buhari.
Kwankwaso is believed to only be bidding his time in the APC and may soon decamp to the PDP.
He has been locked in a running battle with his successor as governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who was his deputy between 1999 and 2003, and between 2011 and 2015.
There are speculations that Kwankwaso who currently represents Kano Central in the Senate may decamp and vie for the PDP presidential ticket, a move which if successful is likely to pit him against Buhari.
Other APC chieftains who visited the president include the party’s National chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, former Abia governor Orji Uzor Kalu, former Enugu governor Sullivan Chime, former Nasarawa governor Abdullahi Adamu, former Senate president Ken Nnamani, among others.
