President Muhammadu Buhari met on Tuesday with a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as well as a former national chairman of the party, Bisi Akande.
The meeting came a few hours after former president Olusegun Obasanjo released a statement blasting Buhari and asking him not to run for a second term.
Tinubu and Akande, who met with the president for about an hour, declined to speak to State House correspondents after the meeting.
It would be recalled that the two chieftains were absent at the last Thursday’s night dinner hosted by President Buhari for APC chieftains across the country.
The national chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, led the party chieftains during the dinner.
