The governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, played host on Wednesday to the his counterparts from Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Jigawa, Badaru Abubakar, as well as the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and the APC National Secretary Alhaji ‘Maimala Buni.
What they discussed?
Nobody knows for sure. Ajimobi asked journalists to leave without offering any clues. He described the visit as a “private affair.”
However, the presence of the APC scribe Buni and the transportation minister Amaechi gives two clues:
- Buni’s presence indicates that it probably has something to do with the All Progressives Congress (APC). All the participants belong to the party.
- Amaechi’s presence indicates that it may have to do with Pres. Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection announcement. Amaechi has been widely reported in the media as the Director General of the reelection campaign, a role he played in 2015 as well.
In the absence of a proper explanation from the attendees, we are left with the below photos from the palatial residence of the Oyo governor.
