In continuation of his visit to states affected by crisis, President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived in Plateau state.
Although the visit was meant to be a condolence visit, it had the look and feel of a campaign carnival – from the Plateau traditional attire worn by the president, to the crowd which showed up to welcome him, to the public holiday declared in the state.
The state governor, Simon Lalong, deputy governor, members of the state executive council and other APC chieftains were on hand to receive the president.
On arrival, Buhari commissioned some projects initiated by the Lalong administration.
Recall that earlier this week, Buhari visited Taraba state, another state negatively impacted by violent clashes. He plans to still visit Zamfara, Rivers and Yobe states.
