The presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party (ACPN), Oby Ezekwesili, has picked the chairman of the party, Abdul-Ganiyu Galadima, as her running mate.
Backstory: Ezekwesili announced Galadima, a former presidential candidate of the party, as her running mate while unveiling her manifesto on Wednesday, Nov 29, in Ilorin.
Ezekwesili said Galadima brings an experience of grassroots politics to the local, state and national levels.
She described him as a man of integrity, stating that his principles and selfless politics are aligned with hers and her vision for the country.
She said, “This experience complements my incomparable competence and capacity when it comes to socio-economic and governance issues.”
Adding that, “Like me, Alhaji Galadima has shown a long-standing commitment to the fight to rescue our nation by standing with people of integrity.
He refused to join questionable alliances and coalitions led and bankrolled by ruling parties in this election and in that of 2015, where he ultimately emerged as the fourth most popular candidate across the nation.”
In his acceptance speech, Galadima made assurances of loyalty and promised to work with Ezekwesili towards getting the people’s mandate in the 2019 general elections.
Mr Galadima, a community leader and former ACPN presidential candidate, was born on June 11, 1964.
He is a graduate of Public Administration from the Kwara State Polytechnic, where he also served as a member of the institution’s Governing Council.
