Muhammadu and Aisha Buhari are bickering in public again

President Muhammadu Buhari has referred to an allegation by his wife, Aisha Buhari, that his government has been hijacked by a cabal as false.

Backstory: The president, while speaking during an interview with the Voice of America (Hausa), said that the allegation was “her business, adding that it shows that he is a real democrat”

Buhari urged his wife to be more forthcoming in revealing the aspects of his government that were being stage-managed by the cabal and also state what the cabal has forced him to do.

Buhari’s response, when asked about the cabal, was this: “That’s her business. This shows I am a real democrat. What they are saying is different from what is happening. They should come out and say those things they feel was staged managed by the cabal. What the cabal force me to do. They should mention just one thing.”

Recall that Aisha Buhari at a conference organized by Project 4+4 in Abuja, some weeks ago lamented that two powerful personalities have constituted themselves as a cog in the wheel of speedy development of the country.

She added that she was disappointed in men who rather than fight these two men will go to them in the night begging for a favor.

The President’s wife insisted that the powerful duo were retrogressive elements preventing the government from moving forward.

Aisha was reported as saying, “I have realized that Senator Babafemi Ojodu, Special Adviser, political, to the President, and Dr. Hajo Sani, and wife of the Vice-President, Mrs. Osinbajo, are not comfortable with my saying this and want me to confine myself to my prepared speech but we must say the truth.”

Bottom Line: Whatever is happening in the Buhari household, they don’t seem to have resolved it. But the president has thrown a challenge to his wife – she need to name the two people hindering progress in the government and how they have done so. Somehow we doubt she would take up the challenge.
