Buhari and Tinubu ask PDP to stop crying foul; label opposition as master riggers

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop making noise about alleged plans by the ruling party to rig elections when its mentor, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, had always rigged elections on the platform of the party.

Backstory: The president said this while campaigning at Ondo State on Wednesday. He said the PDP has no right to complain about election rigging when it never had the capacity of conducting free and fair elections during its 16 years in power.

“The PDP under President Olusegun Obasanjo rigged elections in favor of his party in 2003 and 2007 elections,” Buhari said.

Corroborating the president’s position, the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, urged the people of Ondo state to vote and prevent their votes from being stolen by the PDP which according to him, has perfected the art of rigging. He said the reason the PDP is crying wolf about rigging because it does not have the capacity to win any credible election in the country.

Meanwhile, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, and the State Chairman of APC, Ade Adetimehin, boasted that the party will win in the state convincingly.

Bottom Line: All Nigerians are asking is for the APC led federal government to conduct a fair elections on February 16th.
