President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at both polling unit and that of Atiku.
At Buhari’s Kofar Baru polling unit, he scored 244 votes compared to just 2 votes for Atiku. At Atiku’s own polling unit in Ajiya, Buhari also won, defeating Atiku by 186 votes to 167 votes.
There were jubilations in Atiku’s unit when the result was announced.
Bottom Line: Atiku’s loyalists claim that the relative closeness of the race is a positive sign for him because the unit has been historically won by Buhari in every election he has contested in since 2003. However no matter the way the results are spun, it is a big blow for the chances of the PDP candidate.
