Tragedy struck this morning when an Ethiopian Airline flight 302 crashed minutes after take off from Assis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital, to Nairobi, Kenya. 157 people were on board the flight, including two Nigerians, and none survived.
The two Nigerians who died are Prof. Pius Adesanmi, who was reportedly carrying a Canadian passport and Ambassador Abiodun Bashua, who was carrying a United Nations passport.
Adesanmi is an acclaimed writer, literary critic, columnist and public commentator. He is a Nigerian-born Canadian professor. Abiodun was an accomplished diplomat and the former UN and AU Deputy Joint Special Representative in Darfur, Sudan.
