Benue governorship poll also declared inconclusive

Another guber poll has been declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following earlier announcements in Bauchi, Plateau and Sokoto. The latest inconclusive poll is Benue state where the state’s collation officer, Professor Sebastine Maimako, made the announcement on Monday in Makurdi.

Where things stand: The PDP and its candidate, Samuel Ortom, is in the lead with 410,576 votes, while the APC and its candidate, Emmanuel Jime, are trailing with 329, 022 votes, a difference of 81,554. According to Maimako, the total cancelled votes is 122, 019 which exceeds the difference between the top two candidates.

The PDP protested the announcement through its agent, Alex Ter Adum.
