Just as it was in his first term, the early days of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term is panning out like a reality television show. The president is taking his time to make appointments with the media agog with speculations and permutations.
Yesterday, the senate president, Ahmed Lawan hinted that the president may forward the long-awaited list of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly this week. That list not come in yet, but the president has sent in a list of 15 prospective special advisers to the senate for confirmation on Wednesday.
Background: In a release by Charles Akpan, from the Office of Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, it was revealed that the request which is already with the leadership of the Senate, is expected to be read by senate president at plenary today.
Between the lines: Just last week (five weeks after his inauguration), the president eventually appointed his first set of aides such as the Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Special Assistant on Media and eight other officials.
